Microdermabrasion Facial Treatments
ejoyable aesthetic treatment producing enhanced results
Prestige Organic Aesthetic Spa features two types of microdermabrasion treatments at our Calgary spa, Diamond Tip Microdermabrasion and Crystal Microdermabrasion. Both crystal and diamond tip microdermabrasion are capable of producing the desired results and leave the skin feeling much softer and smoother looking. The process for each is quite different.
Crystal microdermabrasion treatments utilizes aluminum oxide crystals which are released onto the skin at a high speed and temperature by a hand-held device. The system includes a vacuum effect which is used to extract the unwanted crystals. The crystals exfoliate the dead skin cells by ablation, a process which removes the outer surface by use of heat and friction - thus allowing new skin cells to replace the dead cells.
Crystal microdermabrasion provides a slightly more gentle procedure than the diamond tip microdermabrasion.
Diamond Tip Microdermabrasion
Diamond tip microdermabrasion differs from crystal and produces somewhat different results. Diamond microdermabrasion treatments use a diamond tipped wand device which uses abrasion, that is to say, scratching or rub off away dead skin cells and debris from the surface of the skin. This system also employs the use of a vacuum device that disposes dead skin cells and material that has been removed during the treatment. Prestige Organic Spa's staff are trained, skilled and experienced which is an important factor as the manual pressure required for a great microdermabrasion is very much dependant on the technician’s technique and expertise.
Diamond microdermabrasion uses a diamond tip applied directly to the skin providing better results although it is a slightly less comfortable than a crystal microdermabrasion.
There isn’t any downtime after a microdermabrasion treatment and you will be able to go about your everyday activities. Microdermabrasion spa treatments provide best results when done in a series of 3 to 6 treatments over a period of time. We will gladly assist you in making the best choice for the type of microdermabrasion procedure that will best benefit your skin condition.
